Since you hair is damaged on the ends in a kind of "kinky, slash, wavy way " how about doing some crimping to kind of cover the damage. (just my two cents)

So I've been thinking about the sexy untouchable vampire thing. I tend to picture either sexy starlet waves (soft up top and curls/waves on the bottom) or straight and sleek.

If your hair can handle some heat, I would do one of these:
(*Start with a heat-protecting spray product; I like Nexxus Heat Protexx.*)
--Flatiron all over, and then if you want waves, wind your hair back in a bun, but put a little heat on the ends before you wind it all back and tie it. Let it set like that, take your hair down, spray the waves with some soft-hold spray.
Or,
--Curling iron on the bottom half of your hair; finger-comb it once you're done (or brush it to turn the curls into soft waves). Spray to hold.

If you'd rather not use heat, or use it minimally: try partially-drying your hair, then putting it up in big velcro rollers and letting it dry all the way. Maybe give the rollers a short blast from the dryer.

But then again, seeing as how you just got out of a relationship, you could really spread your wings and do something wild: a wig! Why not? Long and black? Deep violet or red? That could be fun!

Anyway, when preparing your hair, when in the shower, wash your hair first and then quickly add conditioner and leave it in for 5-10 minutes before rinsing. Your hair will come out super soft and ready for torture. Especially if you have a conditioner that is for repairing hair.

Been doing my hair like a 50s pin up a lot lately, and believe it or not it's the most mindlessly easy thing ever.

Supplies:
hot rollers
roller clips
cheap aqua-net hair spray

for bonus points-
leave-in conditioner spray
spray gel

How to:
1. Plug in hot rollers
2. If morning, start coffee. If night, pour glass of wine.
3. Spray leave in conditioner and brush hair
4. Check email.
5. spritz in spray gel
6. Grab the middle of the front of your hair- your bangs if you have them. Grab one of the smaller rollers. Wrap the hair forward around the roller and toward your face.
7. Pretend you have a mohawk and work your way back, twisting your hair around each roller toward your face. Use the midsized rollers on the rest of the 'hawk.
8. The sides of your hair are still loose. Grab the tinyest rollers and roll the two sides toward your face.
9. do the rest of your head however.
10. return to your beverage
11. check forum posts
12. contemplate outfit
13. unclip hair.
14. liberally spray aqua net everywhere. if you've done your makeup this will also help it set. Sure, aqua net is bad for the environment and breathing it will probably cause cancer. But it's an f'ing miracle product.

I also have tons of sexy hair-dos that I do, but I can find videos showing similar techniques. Maybe I need to start making tutorials.

If you have severly damaged hair I would recommend staying away from heat tools.

Use plain ol fashioned rollers, use big ones for waves, set them early in the morning or at night if you can stand sleeping in them.

Deep condition your hair once a week using a repair conditioner, maybe k pak?
