It's beautiful, ice cold, and full of the dead: http://www.visitwimberley.com/jacobswell/
It doesn't get any better than that. |

| I miss the old bday parties at pizza hut. Me and my parents would go there every year and they'd bring my gifts there to open and my cake. Also miss my old school cartoons like Doug, Rugrats, Voltron, Thundercats and Gargoyles. And of course the show Lamb Chops! Kinda miss my brother being a baby. He was so quiet. Man I miss the quiet. Really miss happy meals and being a kid with no responsibilities. Those were the days |

| ^^ Haha! This McD's talk reminded me that when I was little I used to try to get away with just eating part of my Happy Meal: the fries, and the pickle off the cheeseburger -- and of course the cookies! Guess I was born a vegetarian with a sweet tooth. |

| Making that first phone call, I was so nervous and I could not stop laughing . Still after a year it feels the same way during a phone call, but the nervousness is gone and replaced with something else. |

| The smell of home-made cinnamon-raisin bread from Grandma's house, the store bought kind is good, but the early working smell of the fresh loaves baking was on another level. |

| The Soda Pull Tab Dragon thread reminded me of this.
Not long after my husband and I first met, I dragged him to a dance. He hated dances so much, and he wound up storming off. I remember being so upset; I love to dance and I thought he was rude to just leave. I sat in my dorm room for a while, ignoring his calls, but then I went to his room.
I couldn't think of the right thing to tell him, but I didn't want to just leave. I still really liked him! So I sat there in the hall, waiting for the words to come to me. I was there about 1/2 hour when he opened the door, surprised to see me. I explained what I was doing there. He couldn't believe I cared enough to come back and choose words that wouldn't hurt him. No one had gone to that kind of effort for him before.
He invited me in, and proposed on the spot. I said, It's a little soon you know! And besides, you don't have a ring. That's when he pulled a pull-tab off one of his cans of Coke (which were everywhere, and still are) and gave that to me, and said he wanted to marry me one day. In '07, when we did marry, we tied a pull-tab to each of the wedding programs. |

| I still have that pull-tab. It was pinned to my bouquet as my "something old." Ten years passed between then and the wedding -- wow, the things you can't foresee, you know? |

| AWWWWW that was such a sweet story RedAngel That story made me think of the first time Michael said he loved me...not sure why Back when I used to receive MSN alerts on my cell phone, I was at a department store texting him while I was shopping with my mom. Can't really remember how it came about but he had said that I would make a good wife and that, "I think I love you." I was so shocked and surprised. Here's this girl who has never been in a relationship. To hear (well read) those words, was a dream come true. Of course he told me in person when he saw me. With a bunch of other mushy stuff. And this was like 2 weeks since we started dating. A couple of days ago I brought this story up to him and the fact that he only waited 2 weeks to tell me he loved me. He said, "I just knew." Me -"You seriously knew." Him- "Yeah. I knew that we would be together forever." Now I'm getting a dopey look on my face just thinking about that. |

| Awww! Red and Moon, you have such lovely memories with your lovely lucky boys! I'm just remembering sneaking out of the house when I was about 14, legging it down to the crematorium and changing into something very short and fishnets before heading into town to snog unsuitable boys _________________ Well, the Devil he taught us how to rock and then he turned us loose |

| I was little, maybe 7 or so. Mom was helping me wash and dry my hair. So we had the hair dryer out -- it was this big old loud, nasty-looking orange dryer from the '70s. Held up for a number of years, though. Anyway, Mom goes to turn it on -- and I guess this was back when we used to watch Star Trek (yep, the original) together -- and she says, "Spock! I'm taking over the Enterprise!" She aims it, turns it on... and it shorts out! Blue sparks flying and everything! It was perfect! We were all right, but scared for a second -- then laughing our a$$es off! |
