| Halloween Happy Meals! Those were awesome! I miss the old Nickelodeon from the 90's, when it was cool and not just a Disney channel challenger. |

| Her sneaking out of the house after midnight. Spending the entire night out on the lawn holding each other in the dead of winter.
No heat in my car. Spending the winter nights in there sometimes. Try to get the hell out of there before her parents woke up and found us with a layer of ice over the inside of all my windows, manically using the ice scraper so I can almost see the road.
Was good times. |

| I thought I missed stirrup pants.
Then I found a pair.
Riiiight... the stirrup on your foot pulls the crotch down to your knees! Forgot about that.
Not everything I miss is really as good an idea as I thought at the time.
But Halloween happy meals, 3-D doritos, chewy shocktarts and orange kit-kats (which I couldn't find this halloween!) really were awesome. |

| Sleep overs at my best friends house. We would drink tons of coffee. Order in. Watch movies and TV shows. Stayed up until 6am. I'd wake up at 11:30, go home to do my chores and be back at her house at 3pm. We would read. Or write stories. Or just sit and talk at her kitchen table nursing another cup of coffee. We'd call the table the talking table because we would talk about everything. But with a boyfriend/husband, kids, work..or just plain old life, gets in the way of those times. Now we just talk and have coffee and watch movies....which is nice too |

| I miss palying and getting dirty in the empty lot by the apartment building where I grew up. Between the ages of 5 and 10, that lot was an awesome place for imagination. When it was weed-filled, it was a jungle; when it was cleared...anything goes. We used to build small shacks with whatever bricks or wood planks were laying around. Now, it's just an empty lot. Crap, I'm getting old. |

| Wow, just the name of this thread brought so many memories back to me... My grandmother's amazing vegetable garden.. me and my high school boyfriend running around Elizabeth Park, and going to Friendly's with our last $8.03 to get 2 orders of quesadillas.. the first time I ever saw Holman Hunt's "Lady of Shalott" at the Wadsworth Athanaeum.. spending time outside among the ivy, at dusk, with bats overhead.. And this oddly vivid one: I was in high school, and I remember walking to CVS with my friend Nick, and getting my first bottle of black nailpolish. It was Wet 'n' Wild brand, and I got a bottle of the Denim Blue too (sparkly indigo). And some silly metal mag, because White Zombie was on the cover. The black polish was one of those things I had to sneak in to the house b/c my mom was weird about these things at the time. Strange to look back. Sometimes the memories are so vivid. I hear Nick is doing all right; I hope that's true. |

| I miss Disneyland from 1987 and earlier, making forts out of boxes, legos when they didn't have so many themes, seeing The Empire Strikes Back in a big theatre, and read-along records. |

| I loved He-Man and Thundercats! I also liked the Smurfs. I remember when the TV stations around here played cartoons in the afternoons, right after school. They don't do that anymore. |

| I miss afternoon cartoons too! But I'm a bit younger- think Animaniacs. And Gargoyles! That show may have been part of the start of my gothness. It had me reading Shakespeare and Norse mythology with an eye to the supernatural at the age of 11. Viva accidental educational tv! |

| I miss Animaniacs too, and Pinky And The Brain and Freakazoid and Toonsylvania! Heck, every cartoon produced by Spielberg was awesome.
I miss Batman: The Animated Series, now that was a superhero cartoon. Also remember reading the first Harry Potter book (The first actual book I read) before the film was ever heard of... |

| I remember back when we were still in the parochial school, taking naps in the bathtub lined with carpent, playing memory with Debby.... wow I haven't thought of her in a long time. that was over 15 years ago....
We didn't really have cable/dish until I was in late middle school. As a kid we just ran crazy around the farm barefoot... had a club house in the windbreak, sometimes went down to the pond and canoed or fished... riding our bikes into town to visit the "arcade" in the back of the country store (convenience store)... sneeking into the cow pasture across the road. I think we called it "a whole new world". Three hour car rides to go see Grandma.
I really kinda' miss it. |
