| Even though a lot of the original Silent Hill fans still hate the movie, I would recommend it. I may not have been familiar with the games but the movie introduced me to them, and now I am a huge Silent Hill fan. |

| I'm a huge SH game fan and I still liked the movie. *shrug* Some people are just really uptight about things.
So far as recommendations go, I wouldn't know because I don't know what you've seen. So, I'll throw some titles out:
Fido (veddy cute zombie movie) Castle Freak High Tension Dead Alive Braindead (Peter Jackson's movies were absolutely gory and fun) Undead. Frankenhooker. Monster Squad. Imprint. À l'intérieur (Inside).
and that's all I can think off right off the bat....last two movies are kind of really gory and intense; great films. |

That was a VERY good film, although it doesn't reach my top ones. I do like having to figure film plots out, though, and that one was really good for that. |

| One I always recommend and play for people is The American Astronaut.
Other movies I recommend would be Videodrome (Cronenburg weirdness that is a little dated but still twisted), Casshern (Live action manga but absolutely beautiful), and Kamikaze Girls (comedy about the unlikely friendship between a girl gang member and a gothic lolita). |

| Stay, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and Wicker Park, respectively. However, the only trailer that really does any justice to the film is the one for Eternal Sunshine. Wicker Park isn't just about sex, and Stay has nothing to do with a world between the living and the dead...well, at least not in the way the trailer implies.

| ICHI THE KILLER--- very very gorey - lollirot something you might enjoy!| Spoiler: | | | Description Prolific director Takashi Miike (AUDITION) keeps finding new ways to test the boundaries of on-screen violence. ICHI THE KILLER is a masterful piece of filmmaking, simultaneously funny and horrific, but it's only for viewers with strong stomachs. One character, Kakihara (Japanese indie film heartthrob Tadanobu Asano), a masochistic yakuza lieutenant, has slits in his cheeks through which he blows cigarette smoke and gleefully hacks off his own tongue to apologize for his impudence. Then there's eponymous assassin (Nao Omori), a painfully shy but sadistic young voyeur who wears a leather superhero outfit to work. Manipulated by the cagey and mysterious Jijii (English translation: 'Gramps' Shinya Tsukamoto), Ichi lashes out and massacres those Jijii deems bullies, and basically anyone else who upsets his frail psyche. Jijii uses the demented lad to start a bloody war between rival yakuza factions. Miike's film is full of grotesquely over-the-top violent set pieces, including flying entrails, graphic mutilations, and even a severed human face splattered against a wall and slowly sliding to the ground. It's all captured with kinetic camerawork and hyperactive editing. It's not for everyone, but bolder viewers will find it uniquely entertaining. |
