We've been watching media coverage of the snow storms in the UK.

Are any of you having to deal with all this...?!

I heard that all public transportation was closed over there.
I hope our UK members are safe at home.

It's odd the way that the UK shuts down as soon as we get a sniff of snow!

We've had snow up here but it didnt stick. Bloody freezing cold though. Thank Goddess for chenille socks Cool

hug I'm so glad you and yours are ok Helen! ...and now there are still the rest of us that live there to still worry over. Rolling Eyes <- worried thinking. Not that we aren't always. Comes with the caring about your friends. It just heightens at times like these.

Thanks Cyn, that is much appreciated hug

I can also say that Vampira is absolutely fine and I think she got to Paris okay after some delay. We texted a couple of times on Monday but I'm certainly not going to pop up and text her during her romantic break Smile

Yeah, dont I know it. My best to keep cool, is stay in my A/C-ed house. When I leave my A/C-ed house, I go straight to my A/C-ed car, and drive to another A/C-ed building. Its soooo hot

My area of the south hasn't seen a lick of snow in 17 years. It is supposed to get 0 tonight, so, who knows.

Symmentha: That's pretty much all you can do, run from A/C to A/C. I've never dealt with temps like those, but it's gotten to about 106 here at times, and since I commute by foot/by bus, I cope as best I can. Those days are just a memory this time of year, though.

Ginger: Yep, we're getting a nasty chill too. And windy weather, which makes it all worse. I'm SO tired of layers and sweaters! And I miss my skirts.

I had to run to my car last night (down the street and through an alley to the city parking garage) and get my camera that's been in there since Halloween.

It snowing out and having been snowing out all day, I felt it necessary to get bundled up properly:

    Vest over a t-shirt - Check
First pair of pants that were in convenient grabbing distance - Check
Old pair of sneakers with various holes in them and no socks - Check

Yay snow! I was thinking this year we needed more, and lo and behold, there's been aplenty. Very Happy

Snow is beautiful, but I apparently have no blood. So it's plenty of layers for me. Rolling Eyes

    GOD YES!!!

My fecking London train and Eurostar trains were delayed which caused me and my boyfriend to get to Paris about 8pm (Paris time) instead of 5pm (Paris time!) Mad Not a good start to the holiday but thankfully we didnt get plane tickets - all the airports were closed and some where open but only a few runways were.
But today: Fri 6th Feb London was still in snow but we got home safe without any delay's woohoo!!

Same here! We don't have air-con at this place though, so I was sitting in front of the fan for quite a few days, eating ice lollies. I'm glad that its gone down to about 15c here at the moment though, it's really nice (because it's raining. I do hope it goes down to Victoria and South Australia though... they need it more than us at the moment!) I've acclimatized too much to Canberra weather.

Doesn't help that during those really hot days I managed to get the mother of all infections in my wisdom tooth, and got told that I have to get it removed.
