I hear "it's amazing" even though it's only gotten about 3 of 5 stars on most user-based reviews that I've seen thus far. Personally I think there's a lot of hype and people are sheep therefore... they think it's "great" because everyone else says it is when in reality it's just "good" or "okay".
No doubt in my mind if "Half Blood Prince" was released as scheduled "Twilight" wouldn't have such high praise (if any at all)... unfortunately it's standing on its own with little to no real competition as far as current movies go so...


Now... can't wait for "Half Blood Prince" to be released. I'm so dressing up as a Ravenclaw student.

Hollywood knows book series like "Harry Potter" and "Twilight" are a gold mine due to all the fans - not only will they make their money back from non-readers of the book but the fans will cause it to be tripled if not more.
Why? Because people are sheep.
Even if "Twilight" sucks, they'll continue to see the sequels thinking "it could be worse" or hoping "surely this'll be better".

They already made a contract with stephanie meyer to do a movie for the entire series.

Cyn- I think the books are for any age group that loves a love story.
I saw the movie the midnight it came out. It was decent. I thought the acting was fine. But there is no way to convey everything in the book into the movie. But i still loved it!

The Day The Earth Stood Still, yet another masterpiece, which doesn't need to be remade.

^Not their fault. Thomas James kept telling him how much he wanted to be in a sequel... then when they finally got around to it, he declined the role. Hate when actors have too much pride or whatever to finish what they started.
Ray Stevenson looks like he'll do a good job though; hopefully he'll stick around should they make a third.

I hate to say it (okay, no I don't) but there's some actors that suck when they try portraying a role outside of their genre. Such actors include, but are not limited to: Will Ferrell, Jim Carrey, Adam Sandler, and... Keanu Reeves.
Thankfully one of his newest movies, The Day the Earth Stood Still is one within his genres that looks incredibly good. From what I gather it's a remake of a 1951 film (seems Hollywood has gone way past no originality anymore) and... I have a feeling it's going to be nothing like the original... which could be great or could be - in either case, the previews at least look quite -worthy.

Another one I'm looking forward to is Tom Cruise's newest flick: Valkyrie

Twilight has been showing in our area for about 3 weeks now.

Being involved in all the holiday activities I've not seen it yet though.
