I am starting to look for prom dresses, but I don' know any good sites. I would just shop at a store, but since I live in the Bible Belt, good black dresses are hard to find. I don't want anything too expense, since i'm on a budget and all. Could someone recomend a good site?

Yeah, design is a very important detail too because you probably have dress codes.

And it might help us to if we knew what kind of an about limit money wise your looking at. Prom is sooo exciting!!! Especially if your going it in Gothic Style!

I'm not sure what style you had in mind, but don't forget to check bridal shops and bridal designer websites -- some bridesmaid dresses are actually gorgeous, with black lace, Asian-inspired details, dramatic asymmetry. Check out Alfred Angelo, Dessy, Jordan. You'll have a choice of colors too, whether you'd like black or jewel-tone.

Well, my price range is $300 max, but cheaper if I could find it. My school doesn't acctually have much of a dress code for prom, but the style I'm wanting is just sorta a classical prom dress, without the poofy skirt, with a gothic spin on it. I would attempt to make one myself, or modify a simpler dress, but I am hopless with sewing.

Just to throw this out there, you can always try a goth costume.

You might be surprised at the gothy dresses you can find at conventional stores. Sometimes just pairing the regular clothes up with some gothy accessories will complete the outfit.

Good Goth has some dresses that might be suitable for prom.
