    A poem for your consideration…

    A Winter’s Night

As dusk falls the gray landscape softens further and shadows, already dark and mysterious, deepen.

Tempered by the onset of a winter evening, the light of day begins to relax its harsh grip on the eyes.

What is obvious during the daylight lies hidden in the gathering gloom.

Dusk falls, lights flicker on to illuminate travelers’ paths home.

A time of rest is near, but not until dinner is done, people connect, discuss their day and take care of the numerous chores of modern life.

The rush and bustle of the day begins to slow down and with that unhurried pace heart rates and stress levels fall.

If one is aware and in tune with the sweetness of a winter’s night a myriad of opportunities present themselves.

Out in the snow standing alone, or with someone who can share the quiet in silence, the darkness of a winter’s night makes one think, consider, and reflect.

If a person is lucky, the soul opens up and the spirit begins to speak.

And if a person is VERY lucky, the heart opens up and gives council.

This is when the Goddess and God stand by a person’s side.

They wrap their loving arms around one and ease any pain, right any wrong, uplift a sagging spirit, and fill one’s heart with everything that is good and sweet in life.

A full Moon may add her soft, white light to the landscape.

Cherish the Moon for she is special and much more forgiving than the Sun.

The Moon is gentle, sweet, graceful, and Romantic…

…as is the Magick of a Winter’s Night.

A personal note…When I lived in Chicago I used to go to a restaurant at the top of the John Hancock building. It wasn’t the tallest building in the city, but the food was good and there was a band that played music you could DANCE to…not gyrate and flip around to, but really dance to…with a beautiful woman in your arms, like Fred and Ginger…the foxtrot and waltz. There was nothing like getting all dressed up fancy, having a great dinner, and dancing on top of the world (or at least the top of Chicago ). The view was stunning, especially in winter. The city spread out below all sparkly like a bed of twinkle lights, the lake – dark and mysterious, the warmth of candle light, and good music with elegant people dancing…brings back sweet memories…romantic memories.

This should probably have gone in the Absynthe Lounge, but what the heck, here is just as good...hope you enjoy it Smile

    Greetings,
Thanks for your comments. Sometimes one feels such passion for a subject that the words (and images, too in my case) flow easily. Take care all and have a wonderful day.
