With things being so tight economicly right now I thought it might be interesting for people to maybe post pictures of or articles about places they would like to go or things they would like to see themselves.

Roger Hiorns' Seizure

Unfortunatly it's gone now,but it's something I would have loved to go and see in person.

Something I have always wanted to see.
And I've lucked out with an English bf with most of his family still there.
I won't have to worry about hotels grin

Black Sand Beaches In Tahiti

Shocked
That is so awesome!
I've been to the White Sands National Monument in New Mexico and that was pretty neat... guess it was a lot like a desert though unlike this. Man, I could run along the beach for hours there.
I'd imagine the sand gets more hot than normal sand though?
wtf

That is so freaking cool!!!
I heard about those.
I'd have to agree Lex. The sand must get pretty darn hot.

My favourite has to be Warwick. Beautiful castle. Wales has very many lovely castles too

Conwy Castle is five miles away from Damnation Towers

Prague also has great castles - the following is a particular favourite Wink

I want to see in person...

* The Astronomical Clock in Prague... and draw it. And see the inner workings of it.
* Giverny, and Monet's gardens and studios.
* The Degas exhibition held in Canberra next month - and get up really damned close to them and study them.
* A Massive Black gathering.

There's a heap more, but they all too relate to art. D:

Wouldn't mind going there, especially if it was all underwater like the single picture available...
But, as it's not, I think I'd be slightly more enticed to visit
Hydropolis

or... better still...
The Poseidon Resort as it'll actually be underwater.
Suppose whichever opens first.... in my dream world...where I have groves of money trees.

Quite beautiful though... the only think that MIGHT be slightly better would be a hotel in space (though... the water, marine life, etc. makes the underwater aspect still more tempting.)

Loy Krathong

Loy Krathong is held on the full moon of the 12th month in the traditional Thai lunar calendar (which usually falls in November here in the west). This month in the Northern Thai kingdom, ritual symbolism and Lanna Thai Buddhist tradition intertwine as communities gather together to celebrate a vast healing ritual.

In a ceremony possibly derived from the Hindu celebration of Diwali in India, hundreds of thousands of candle-lit krathong (banana leaf rafts) and elaborate, glittering floats are set adrift in rivers, streams, lakes, and canals.

Stopping off in Dubai last time I was out here, I had the luxury of going to one of the very very few 7 star hotels in the world Burj-Al-Arab. And I have seen your Hydropolis in the making too, in person tongue. It looks a bit different under construction than what the image shows on the site.

Wat Phra Kaew

Wat Phra Kaew, Dusit District, Bangkok

Wat Phra Kaeo, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, is the most sacred and opulent of all the Buddhist temples in Thailand. Wat Phra Kaeo is located within the grounds of the Grand Palace of Bangkok.
