| Yeah, people of all groups are guilty of it though. I'm sure a LOT of white McCain voters voted for him just because he was white too.
I do definitely understand though the draw of identifying with someone like you...but in the end, it's the issues that should really win out.
Now, let's get a Native American candidate in the running, and I'll just HAVE to vote for them! J/K!
(lol, I'm 1/2 Native American) |

| Okay. *deep breath* I’m officially, and totally, confused. You say I am racist. You say I am close minded. You say I am a lot of things. You say these awful, demeaning, and downright false things… without ever really asking me what I personally believe in. (Just because you vote along party lines, does NOT mean you necessarily agree with everything that party maintains…. correct? That is why there are Liberal-Democrats, Conservative-Democrats, Liberal-Republicans, and Conservative-Republicans…. And a million and two parties smooshed in between. For gosh sakes… there is a party called the, “I Like Beer” party. America… is a wonderful nation. Because we have so many, many options… as silly as they may be. Assumers… are terrible. And so are Cyber-bashers. It does nothing—NOTHING—positive for you. This is what I am hearing… “Close-minded, ignorant Republican” = Someone who does not agree with you all the time. Because really… I haven’t said anything about my specific views on issues. Have I sat here on my “ignorant” Republican bum and said half the things you say I am…? Absolutely not! I would never… because they simply are not true. My younger sister is Chinese, 100%. I myself am partially Middle Eastern (much like our current President-Elect, no?) and Native American. One of my dearest friends is an African American homosexual, who I adore for his spunk and attitude. I can count on one hand the number of Conservatives I am friends with… 5, to be precise. I mostly hang out with people who are polar-opposite of me… this for two reasons. 1. An unchallenged viewpoint is an ignorant and blind viewpoint. 2. I like to argue… keeps me on my tootsies. I was really praying that after the election (which I knew would end the way it did… still doesn’t mean I have to be chipper about it… )… that you would PLEASE just leave me alone, and stop hurting me and making me feel belittled on a daily basis. I have every right to speak, Lex. But you never let me, without a swift attack following. It’s just… uncalled for. And immature. And to be quite frank… makes YOU look like the close minded one… not even willing to hear me out once in a while. I love my friends. I love my country. I respect the office of Presidency, and applaud President-Elect Obama in his victory… regardless of the issues, a victory like that has not been made since Jimmy Carter’s. I hope to God I am forced to eat my words when I say I think the next four years… will be challenging for us as a nation. No matter what happens… we will reap what we sow. |

| Akashka, were you talking to me? I'm so sorry if I worded anything wrongly, I definitely am NOT trying to accuse anyone on here of being racist at all. I'm also definitely not trying to demean Republicans either. I generally vote republican, in fact. Apocalypse, I haven't seen any actual numbers for Nader, but I did see that in D.C., third party candidates and write-ins all combined only got like 1% of the vote. Nader is actually a pretty nice guy, his campaign office in DC is on the 2nd floor of my building, I work on the 3rd floor, and Nancy Pelosi lives in the penthouse on top, lol! I've ridden on the elevator with him a few times. I have a quite a few friends who voted for him. I wonder if he's going to try to run next election. |

Oh, and make certain you spell everything correctly and use proper grammar. If you don't she'll be on you more than white one rice is. Doesn't matter if you're American and it's your first language or... Turkish and barely speak proper English - she'll be sure to make you know how wrong you are and it'll annoy the crap out of her to the point of harassing the moderators about it, as if she's God's gift to the world & her single voice matters.
I don't have a problem with the differences, but people like her make the rest of their lot out to be a bunch of clueless, narrow minded, sexist, homophobic, racist, oppressive, archaic b**tards. Hard to not think ill/get upset with people like them striving to make our world a worse place and continue to b*tch & moan after they lost fair and square. |
I sence jelousy, mabey a tad bit no? I thought someone had all the details set for moving to Rochester, so whens the plane leave? |
