| bluck... I hate time change. Not that it's going to do much good now to give a reminder that tonights the night (morning really) that some of us in the US need turn our clocks back an hour, but ah who knows. I had just wish that I had remember this myself earlier. So at 2:00am. set your clocks back to 1:00am. I'm hoping you know who you are if you are one of us that does live where you do the dreaded, in my opinion, time change. I guess we can use this thread if anything to see who of us forgot. |

| Thank Goddess I don't work tomorrow, have any physical classes I need to go to, and even if I did work... it wouldn't be until 6 (5) PM. Hate losing an hour... why the hell can't we have a universal time zone? It's not like we live in an era that depends on the sun being up to determine when we can/can't work anymore... |

I concur! The olden days of having to rely on the sunlight for extra hours of harvest are over, so why change the clocks? It's a pain..... |

| It's because of Wall Street I believe for the changing of the time. I think I remember someone telling that when I asked them. I should have also added this... I never wait until 2:00am to turn my clock back. I don't think most people that go to bed before 2 am wait either. They just do it right before going to bed.
And as to the lose or gain of an hour, I have had this difference in opinion with many people and I still don't get it. I always feel I've lost an hour probably because being able to sleep in an hour more has always seemed more important to me than being able to stay up an hour extra. Umm or having to go to bed an hour earlier???
Maybe that's a poll in the making...
Do you feel you lose an hour or gain an hour? |

| The reason why we have time zones is because of train transit. People would go from one place to another and the times wouldn't sinq up. _________________ I'm a werewolf, not a vampire! |

| Wait, what? I swore at 6 am the new time was 7 am... I'm so confused... I honestly have no idea what time it is. I had to call my mum this morning just to compare times. My cellphone clock said 6:22 am and their clock (one of those synced with the official time place type) was 7:22 am (so isn't that losing an hour?) I'm so confused... What time is it normally? 12:56 now so would that mean... it's supposed to be 1:56 had this not occured? Seriously, wth is the purpose of time changes? I suppose going to sleep would help reset my internal clock though... |

| nah, that'd be about right... you're an hour ahead of me... wait.... You SHOULD be an hour ahead of me.... Are you sure that "normally" it'd be 2 PM right now there? Cos my computer clock shows it's 1 PM here now which would be 2 PM there now... *goes to time.gov* >.> for some reason that site isn't loading... This is frustrating... I should not be this confused on something so simple... |

| Lex, we change the clocks back an hour, not ahead. Your computer should have done it automatically at 2am (turned back to 1am) this morning, so I'd go by that. |

| Mine did that already. My alarm clock says 2.11 but my computer says 1.11. I know of a person who loves it when the clocks jump ahead and hour. _________________ I'm a werewolf, not a vampire! |

| And if you have a cell phone... all of those should change automatically. They do that even when you cross over to another state with a different time than what you are coming from.
The "need" to change times has to do with being on the same time as Wall Street. I'll have to look it up and see if I can find something on it. |

I guess this is why I was told that we still do daylight saving time and it is has to do with Wall Street. [ http://www.energy.ca.gov/daylightsaving.html ]
But hey on another related subject, I don't watch much tv, so I really don't know, but is this going effect those of you that have favorite shows that were on at certain times? Will those airing times change? |

So now... it's to supposedly "save energy" which it theoretically does. What's the big deal about saving energy? Seriously. We're in a day and age where there's so many alternative means to generate energy it's amazing how we're not maximizing their use. In reality, it's not at all about "saving energy" it's about brainwashing the masses into thinking they're saving a few extra bucks by screwing with their sleep schedule still. Wake up early with the sun go to bed with it also - still the same archaic bs.
If anything, it makes more sense to sleep in later while the sun is up because you wont feel the need to have the a/c running or anything else. Then the night hours are cooler so you'll continue not to need it. Sounds like it's less about saving energy and more about making profits. Which isn't surprising... that's the only motivator in life for the majority - money. So sad... |
