| So recently I reconnected with my old best friend from junior high school. We kinda lost contact after we we went to seperate high school and what not. To be honest, I don't even know how she found me this time. It seems as if she wants to continue where we left off years ago, but we have absolutely nothing in common now. And the fact that she's moving so fast in our new-found relationship kinda freaks me out. Anywho, I really don't wanna get too friendly with this woman, but she keeps inviting me over and inviting me to events. I always politley decline, hoping she'd get the hint, but it seems that only makes her more adamant about hanging with me. Don't get me wrong; it's not that I don't like her anymore. It's just that we're not the same people we were in junior high. We're not into the sames things anymore. She's got kids, I'm allergic to kids, etc. We're just at different stages in our lives. So, I dunno. How do I get rid of her? Any thoughts, suggestions? |

| Why dont you try telling her the truth?! Something that might just work. The problem with us ladies is that we never want to let people down. I've got a woman at work who is in the same situation has been invited to go on holiday with her old best mate next year for 2 weeks in Spain, but she doesnt want to go. Just tell her that you are two different people now and you dont see the need to see each other but you'd like to keep in touch via email or something. Let her down gently. _________________ |

| That is a good idea Vampira ...I have been in the same exact situation in the past with a friend from primary school who wanted to become "friends" again. We got together for lunch one day and realized that we were not the same people anymore that we once were .All we could talk about was what "we" used to do in school together. I now get those "Long" Christmas cards letters in the mail now telling me about what her and the family is up to. |

| I also agree. Even though it might hurt, telling the truth is the best option. |

| I suppose telling the truth is the best way to go. But I'm somewhat concerned she may go psycho on me. I'm slowly remembering why we went our seperate ways. |

| Hmm I don't know... telling the truth will be very ackward and uncomfrtable... I think u should just ignore her invites don't even politely decline just don't respond and if she asks u why u didn't reply or anything just say u were busy u did not notice it was there or something came up... and act very casually uninterested in it... even if she doesn't get the message that u don't want her friendship eventually the being ignored factor will either piss her off and she will stop inviting u or will wear her out and she will stop inviting you =) don't answer the phone calls don't return voice mails don't return emails just let it go... |

| Give me her number, $50, and a few minutes.
I'll make sure she gets the message. |
