| I am just back from a creative writing course and here are some techinques we used.
An image of a person and hot seated them (asked them a few questions)
Cut up text and rearanged it to create poetry or prose, this has a name and its a surealist style.
Using someone else's first line.
A political concept.
Any other people's ideas?

| Greetings, Is the Surrealist style you're thinking of "Exquisite Corpse?" I used a drawing form of it with my students in 3rd through 6th grades and they had a blast. |
