| What's on? If you mean some kind of poster war or, I wish not, flame war this stops here. Seriously, we're here to discuss our opinion and not throwing around mud like we were lads. You have your point of view, I have my point of view; my father doesn't believe in God but he believes in some form of spirituality, his brother believes in God but doesn't believe in religion and considers everything vision of reality being rather individual than collective and that they're things science cannot simply explain, their father doesn't believe in God nor anything supernatural nor in Global Warming and his wife, their mother, my grandmother believes in God, Christ, the Virgin Mary and all the saints and angels.
And
We all love each other, get along, laugh together, cry together, enjoy our company together and respect each other's belief as it should be.
Sorry if I went a bit over-the-top with this. |

| Sorry Sometimes I get really around midnight for a good old debate. Last time I spent two hours writing a post in a forum about why fascism was equal to be an animal... darn, I am deraling here aga... oh, shiny! If you excuse me for using a Biblical expression, I would take this matter with a Solomonic choice. No posters to anyone. Religion shouldn't be advertise, and by extension the lack of it; personally, it's disgusting. |

| Personal beliefs shouldn't be advertised, I agree there, but as long as it's going to happen, it's only fair to let every voice be heard. That means christians, atheists, mormons, muslims, scientologists, etc. alike. We don't see non-christian's complaints about christian advertising and having the ad be pulled, but gods forbid an atheist sign ever appear in public. Right? Is that really fair? Most of my family is christian, and they don't know yet about my lack of belief. Personally I'm terrified they ever find out. I won't hear the end of it. They are the type of people that would flip their lid if they ever saw an atheist advertisement in public. |

| I think this is where the don't ask, don't tell slogan comes into play. If really closed minded people saw that, there would probably be a huge uproar, even though they in turn would want to advertise their beliefs to the world |

| ^^Haha, got to love that explanation. I mean, obviously, if science can't explain everything that ever has happened yet, then it MUST have been the work of a big man with a beard in the clouds. Duh! |

| The whole bus-plastering thing is incendiary nonsense, in my opinion. I don't agree with religious statements OR anti-religious statements being put on government vehicles. (Separation of church and state, anyone?)
What's more, it's purely reactionary -- it's non-religious people hitting back at Bible-thumpers. Is it that much different -- in intent -- from when fundamentalist Muslims murdered Theo van Gogh for his documentary suggesting that violence takes place in some Muslim households? Where does the revenge end?
These games also take attention away from the more important issue of working out how to live respectfully & nonviolently with the other clueless people that share this planet with us. The "My unproveable belief is better than your unproveable belief!" garbage just leads to further misunderstanding, prejudice, homicide, and of course, increased airline "security".
I'm sorry. This one just gets to me; I've thought about it for a while now.
While I was raised Christian (and no, not the Bible-thumping kind), it's more accurate to say that I'm a member of the Church of We've All Got It Wrong. None of us knows for certain how we got here, or what happens after death. No matter what we believe or don't believe, we won't know until we die. So what are the chances that any one belief is 100% correct? Thus, despte our best intentions, we've all got it wrong to some degree. |

| ^^ I agree 100% We can only guess what's right. No one really knows. Heck, everything we believe can be wrong. That's why there's different beliefs. Everyone believes different things and one isn't right for all. |

| It all comes down to free speech. Why is it that Christians can shove god into people's lives but an atheist can not dare people to think for themselves? _________________ I'm a werewolf, not a vampire! |

| Atheism bus advertising stalls in Italy
Atheists' first rolling advertisement in Italy got off to an ignominious start Monday when the bus touting their doubt in God, perhaps inexplicably, conked out.
No sooner had the bus -- carrying the message "The Good News Is There Are Millions of Atheists In Italy; The Excellent News Is They Believe In Freedom Of Expression" -- headed out onto the streets of Genoa than it developed a battery problem and had to head back to the depot for repairs, ANSA reported.
''By pure chance,'' a member of the Italian Union of Atheists, Agnostics and Rationalists told the Italian news agency, ''the vehicle left the depot bright and early but had to go straight back because of a 'curious' problem with the batteries."
It was the second setback for the group, which earlier altered its message because of opposition by religious protesters.
Originally, the message was to have been "The Bad News Is God Doesn't Exist. The Good News Is You Don't Need Him."
The bus advertising is to go on for a month in Genoa and possibly spread to other Italian cities. The campaign follows similar efforts in Washington, London and Barcelona, Spain.
The campaign has also used the slogan: ''There's probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life." _________________ ”Puritanism: The haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy." ~H. L. Mencken
