A tainted spirit as humans tend to be,

Too true or pure to see.
My heart breaks within this shell
Yet I know it’ll all be okay
Because I helped you to smile

Heaven was lost
The second I took form.

And walk the coals of Hell
Just to be closer
Closer to you.

As I wrote this I was listening to VNV Nation's "Illusion" and had this visualization of a being of pure energy existing through all eternity... from the beginning until the end, moving back and forth through all time always observing & studying... witnissing the evolution, destruction, and rebirth of humanity... and so many things we can't even fathom. Then one day, within this cycle, a being was born into the world... and as he watched her grow, learn, change & adapt... as he watched her mature into an amazing young woman he too began to change.. to take form... to exist for her. Yearning with every fiber in his "soul" to love her... but being cursed by the limited ability to express love through actions & words in mortal form - always unable to fully express something so pure. So he settles by protecting her and doing everything he can to be her guardian angel...
Or something like that at least... dunno if that makes much sense.
But that's just what I got from it as the writer... perhaps & hopefully others got/get something completely different. Either way, I hope you enjoy.
