| You know you buy something that someone wanted so much and they go and sell it on eBay.
IE. I bought person 'A' a Teddy bear because they were loving him at that moment. I saw the Teddy Bear in some arcade grabbing machines and I spent about £10 trying to get this damn teddy, so when I saw that persons face be kinda sad I looked on eBay the next day and bought person 'A' one. They were so thrilled and now I have found out that they are now selling it on eBay for £5 with £2 P&P and who gets that money?! PERSON 'A'..!
Im very upset and very angry at them.... Why do people do stupid things to hurt other people? _________________ |

My culture has a strong belief that giving away something that other person gave you is a quite rude act, something I was amazed to discover isn't the case on the US culture; but nonetheless, if someone took the effort to make or pay with their one sweat something to you and you just give it away or even worse, as Person A did, sells it; it's quite evidently that this person doesn't care about it and doesn't place your friendship on the same level as you do. |

Alot of folks in the US are wierd about gift giving. Here we have a gift receipt system. Include the store receipt with the gift, so if the person doesn't like the gift you got them, they can return it to the store for a refund or exchange. |

Woah, now that seems cold to me. Here is rude to leave the price tag or any kind of information like that. If you recieved it and don't liked it, you just smile, say thank you and put it away in the closet and forget about it forever or just put it out if that person comes to visit (let's say, your mother-in-law bought you an ugly pair of shoes; if you are going to visit her, half of the time you feel the obligation of wearing those shoes) I know it seems a bit hypocrital and I don't follow some of these rules (if I think it's ugly I don't wear it, period; but I say thanks nonetheless) but that's the beauty of cultures... they variations and habits... |

| yeah, its really Quite odd. Some people remove all price tags and anything that wil say a store or price on a gift and their are others that give the receipt with the gift. I myself never return a gift and remove all price/store info from a gift. _________________ |

| After about 5 years...I get rid of it. I know they do mine Actually when I give a gift to someone it is something I know that they want or something that I know they will use. So it won't be a waste of money.... For example, last Christmas I gave my best friend exactly what she wanted. C.S.I season 6. For my brothers I gave them things that they would need. I filled up a box full of toiletries. Shaving supplies, gel, shampoo, deodorant, cologne, mens body spray.....a box for each of them. They loved it! Then I gave them things I knew they would like. My oldest brother is easy to shop for because he owns and collects things. As you may have noticed in some pics I've posted So I gave him 2 wooden boxes with skeletons carved in them. Something like this My other brother is the total opposite, so i gave him a gift certificate at his favourite clothing store. He can't be trusted with cash. AND there is a reason why he doesn't own or collect things |
