Have you ever heard of Lucky the leprechaun? You may have seen him in the commercials for the cereal Lucky Charms. He appears to be a happy little a man, and he was. That is just the thing though; he was.
Lucky had met his wife Mrs. Fields, in a Wal-Mart check-out line. They had both reached at the same time for a Kit-Kat and the attraction was immediate. After a year and a half of dating Lucky finally popped the question and they were married soon after.
The forty years that followed were the happiest in Lucky’s never-ending life. He and Mrs. Fields had three children together, Snap, Crackle, and Pop. When the boys grew older they bugged their parents mercilessly to find them a job in show business, just like their father. Lucky and Mrs. Fields eventually gave in. Mrs. Fields went to talk to Ernest J. Keebler. She went to him to see if he needed more help, as her children, strangely enough, were elves. Ernest said he was over staffed at the Keebler bakery but gave them the job as new spokes people for the cereal Rice Krispies.
Lucky had not gone with his wife because he had to go in to work for a new commercial that General Mills was shooting, and his kids were in school. The commercial did not take long to shoot so Lucky was excited to get home early. Before he left, his boss took Lucky into his office. He wanted to congratulate Lucky on the raise he’d just given him. Lucky was so excited that before returning home he decided to pick up flowers for the love of his life and still was able to make it home early.
Lucky entered the house whistling his favorite Sublime tune. When he climbed the stairs humming under his breath he heard the sound of his wife’s passionate love making. He hurried back down the stairs to grab his 9mm and rushed back up the stairs, his eyes red with tunnel vision. He slammed the door open to see his wife mounting the head elf, Ernest. Without thinking he pulled the trigger twice. Surprise was still in their faces but death sang from their eyes.
After a few minutes, Lucky’s head started to clear and he realize that he needed to do something with the bodies. He didn’t want his children to know what happened to their mother, and what she or he had done. He looked at the blood splatter on the wall. There wasn’t much. Good. He wrapped up the bodies in the bed sheet and used his red balloon to carry them to the back of his Hummer. After climbing into the driver seat he used his blue moon to shield the car from watching eyes. Once on the road he tried to figure out a safe place to dump the bodies. He decided to put them in a land fill. Those things stink already.
He arrived back at home to clean everything up before the boys came back from school. He bleached the wall then painted over it. He was fortunate as the blood didn’t get on the floor. He put the flowers he bought for his deceased wife in a vase like nothing happened. It was as though he was still waiting on his wife to come home from her daily errands.
From that day forth, Lucky was no longer just a cute, happy leprechaun. He was a sick, sadistic killer. After murdering his wife and her lover, he realized that killing was a new joy for him. So I will just say to you, do not go looking for the end of any rainbow. Lucky just may be at that end, waiting with his 9mm and vengeance in his heart.
