| Anyone know of anywhere where I can find gothy type clothes that are still professional looking for work? Or maybe some nice accessories like brooches and the like to goth-ify otherwise bland work clothes? I'm going for a more Wall Street Goth look, if that's possible. LOL We have a new dress code at work (a very good thing actually, you should see some of the craziness people wear at my job), and now I'm at a loss. I never had this problem before. |

| Whenever I see a corporate goth outfit, it usually consists of pinstripes. _________________ I'm a werewolf, not a vampire! |

That changed it alot! I mean dress code for an office differs highligh to a shop floor.

| I can't wear anything that shows my ass. Like, through fabric. That means no pants without a long tunic, no skirts that hug my butt. All skirts below the knee. Shirts must have sleeves. But when I got hired there they said there was "no dress code! We're casual!" Guess I shouldn't have gone in there wearing black and white stripe leggings and a frilly mini dress. |

Very nice! But I can't wear any of that to work, too sexy. My, those skirts are ass-clingy! |

| ^^ A fishtail skirt looks nice but its up to you if you wanted something baggy or something that shows your figure.
You can always get cheap blouses from anywhere really with just a normal pair of black pants. You dont always have to be fancy at work - depending on what you do and if you see clients. But why not just go out and buy some suits. I know they are unGoth but you can always add lil perky accssories and some kick ass shoes/boots.
Plus go with what Ginger said and choose Pinstripe, I know alot of my work clothes are even my bustle skirt, it does have the Gothic flair to it. _________________ |

| Oy vey! I hate pants, I usually wear skirts and dresses. Not a big fan of pinstripes either. Looking for something more sophisticated to wear to work. Not a kid anymore, I'm pushing 30, so I need a more mature wardrobe for the office. Up until now I had been wearing all sorts of black dresses to work. Wasn't really a problem, but with the passing of the new dress code, I thought it would be a good idea for me to look more professional and polished. You know, no more baby doll dresses with mary janes. Also, the long flowing skirts Romati-goth look isn't going to cut it either. Do I make any sense? |

| I'm a legal assistant at a law firm. I wear mostly long straight skirts or knee length pencil skirts, or nice slacks. I have a few long sleeve buttondown shirts from Lip Service I wear a lot. As far as accessories, will your work let you wear stuff like Alchemy jewelry?
I don't know if it will help, but here are some links to some articles of clothing that I wear regularly to work

| ^^That's it! Thanks chelseagirl! I haven't received a Newport News catalogue in years...I had no idea they have such wonderful clothes now!
I'm actaully a little embarrased to be asking for work clothes help, especially since I've been dubbed the "fashionista" at my job. I guess my current work outfits would be great if I worked for a fashion mag or something, but really aren't right in a non-profit social service agency. |

| Cool! Actually, Newport's stuff isn't so great this year - in the past years they've had a lot of nice victorian inspired stuff and nice velvet stuff, but not so much this year. Hopefully, next season they'll have better stuff again. I have a LOT of clothing from them. They have a lot of nice tight black knee length dresses that look great with corsets. |

| So you can't wear pants that are fitted without some sort of a@@ flap? That is odd. What about the fellas, does the same rule apply? If not I would be ticked. |

| If you want to go corporate but sill have a goth flare I always stick with sexy blazers with a nice lace shirt underneath.
Sleek pencil skirts look nice. I have one with a lace trim that looks professional. |
