My friend shelby11000 made a trailer for my fan fiction called The Nightmare After Christmas, so now I wanted to do one xD But it's a fake trailer, so it's not really coming to theaters. sad or frown Anyway, what happens is Jack and Sally have a baby girl, Jamie, and 5 years later, Oogie Boogie is back and kidnaps her. He's planning to kill her then kill Jack in order to become the ruler of Halloween Town. So Jack has to save Jamie an get rid of Oogie.

omg Now that's one remake i'd like to see. That really got me wanting to see what would happen. In my opinion, Hollywood should make something like that because the plot would be brilliant, instead of the classic movies that can't possibly have anything more added to them.

They're going to re-make Total Recall?
Total Recall" is totally coming back.

Neal H. Moritz and his Original Films banner are in final negotiations to develop and produce for Columbia a contemporary version of "Total Recall," the 1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger sci-fi action movie directed by Paul Verhoeven.

The original, based on the Philip K. d**k story "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale," follows a man haunted by a recurring dream of journeying to Mars who buys a literal dream vacation from a company called Rekall Inc., which sells implanted memories. The man comes to believe he is a secret agent and ends up on a Martian colony, where he fights to overthrow a despotic ruler controlling the production of air.

The movie explores one of Dick's favorite topics, reality vs. delusion, as audiences never knew whether or not the story was a dream. Either way, the movie grossed a very real $261 million worldwide.

Carolco was behind the original movie, which was distributed by TriStar. Dimension picked up the rights for a reported $3.15 million with the aim of developing a sequel. Columbia secured the rights from Miramax, which retained them when Harvey and Bob Weinstein left to start their own company.

Calling Dick's story "prescient," Moritz said he hoped the advancements in technology and state-of-the-art visual effects can help tell the "Recall" story in a fresh way.

Toby Jaffe is overseeing on behalf of Original Film. Matt Tolmach and Sam Dickerman oversee for Columbia.

Keanu Reeves in for new 'Jekyll'

Universal is developing a modern retelling of the classic novella "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde," with Keanu Reeves attached to star and Justin Haythe, writer of "Revolutionary Road," penning the script.

Nicolas Winding Refn is in negotiations to direct the project, titled "Jekyll." It is being produced by Erwin Stoff and Red Wagon Entertainment's Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher.

Robert Louis Stevenson's tale about a doctor who scientifically develops an evil self has become so pervasive in popular culture that the phrase "Jekyll and Hyde" conjures the idea of a split personality. The story has been translated to the screen and stage dozens of times, with several deviations including comedy, kids ("Jekyll and Heidi") and gender (1995's "Dr. Jekyll and Ms. Hyde"). The story has seen modern iterations as recently as 2007, when the BBC aired a miniseries with the story set in the present as Hyde ran amok in London.

Plot details for this "Jekyll" are being kept locked in the laboratory.

Universal clearly is enamored with the tale as it also has been developing a take on it with Guillermo del Toro, though the two couldn't be more different.

Del Toro, who has an affinity for gothic horror as well as creature features, aims to stick more closely to the Stevenson tale. Also, del Toro's project is on the slow track as the filmmaker works on "The Hobbit" for New Line and MGM, which is expected to take up the next five years. Even when he comes back, he likely will tackle one or two other Universal projects before his version, so a good amount of time will exist between the projects.

Universal executive vp production Peter Cramer and vp production Erik Baiers will oversee the "Jekyll" project.

Refn, repped by WMA and Anonymous, is a Danish director who made a name with homegrown gritty thrillers known as the "Pusher" series. He co-wrote and directed the indie crime biopic "Bronson," starring Tom Hardy, which premiered this year at the Sundance Film Festival.

Haythe, repped by CAA, also wrote the script for "The Clearing," the Robert Redford kidnapping thriller. He is working on Fox 2000's remake of "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea."

Reeves, repped by CAA and 3 Arts Entertainment, most recently starred in Fox's remake of "The Day the Earth Stood Still."

I think the "Lady In White" is the either the ghost or hallucination of Micheal Myers older sister whom he killed on Halloween as a little boy. Somebody had to have told him that he had a baby sister while inside the institution for 20 years.

Rob Zombie's remake didn't bother me, being that he's such a huge horror fan, not some studio desperate for anything to make money but lacking any new ideas.

Remakes are why I hate Tim Burton...oh wait, he re-imagines films and stories, so its' ok. But what's this rumor I here about Burton remaking Adams Family into a stop-motion clay-mation thing?

Ok, so here's a list of Tim's work Producing and Directing of the last 30 years, lets take a look, at why I now hate this man and his work, when I once looked forward to his creations.

    Vincent 1982
    Luau 1982
    Frankenweenie 1984
    Pee-wee's Big Adventure 1985
    Beetle Juice 1988
    Batman 1989
    Edward Scissorhands 1990
    Batman Returns 1992
    The Nightmare Before Christmas 1993
    Ed Wood 1994
    Mars Attacks! 1996
James and the Giant Peach 1996

So these first 15 years not so bad, his re-imagining of Batman was nice, a dark fairytale. Now they look dopey compared to what Bruce Nolan has done, and Mars Attacks was a re-imagining and homage to multiple 1950's alien invading films. Plus in this period, Burton has probably four of his five best films he's ever done: Beetlejuice, Scissorhands, Nightmare, Ed Wood. All very inventive and fun films. But wait.... what that up ahead.... looks like rough toilet waters.

    Sleepy Hollow 1999
(ok, so this story been done a dozen times, but Burton's was good here)

    Planet of the Apes 2001
(oh snap, this film was f'n total crap, Ape Lincoln....suck it)

    Big Fish 2003
(apology accepted Tim, Big Fish is your masterpiece, I forgive you for Apes and ....

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 2005
(OH NO, biggest turd ever imagined, steaming pile of cinematic crap)

    Corpse Bride 2005
(Poor man's Nightmare Before Christmas, it was aight)

    Sweeney Todd 2007
(look out, the re-imagining of a remake of a remake...and it kinda sucked)

    9 (2009)
(this viral phenomenon deserved a big budget, ok maybe Tim's not all bad. Maybe he'll create his own film from his own imagination now and...)

    Alice in Wonderland 2010
(NOPE, wrong. So I'm not seeing this, I've said why, I feel like a spouse always being let down and beaten, why should I trust you Tim? You and your 3-D CGI, It's some blonde, Depp in another hat and your wife's head filmed in front of a green screen fighting cartoons.)

    Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
(word? Word! WORD?!? This is being made?)

    Frankenweenie 2011
(Oh no this muthafuka did not! He's run out of other people to remake films and featurettes from, so he going to re-imagine his own damn imagination now? He's remaking his own film...sin, I hate you so much Burton)

....and now this Adam's Family stop-motion talk.... Tim Burton, you started off good, and then tummbled down a slippery slop into crap.

^^ Addams Family.. stop motion... I can't decide whether to hurl or rage.

My mom was Morticia Addams for Halloween when she was, I think, 10. Didn't know Goth was hereditary. Laughing

So I saw a trailer for the new Jackie Chan movie. I adore Jackie Chan, so I was pretty psyched. He acts as martial arts teacher to a young boy who needs to defend himself in his new home country. Looks good at first, sounds a little familiar, then I saw the title:

    Spoiler:

Noooo!!! What a waste of Jackie Chan!

And somehow it keeps getting worse

'In 2010 we have much to look forward to, including a revamped version of the Karate Kid and a modernized The A-Team. According to the movie guys at mytotally80s.com, Ferris Buller, Top Gun and Dirty Dancing are also among the silver screen re-releases in the works'

55 movie remakes currently in the works

The second list makes me cringe.

    Guillermo Takes on Haunted Mansion

Guillermo del Toro may be done with “The Hobbit,” but the director has already picked his next project: directing a new adaptation of Disney's theme park attraction, The Haunted Mansion.

The “Hellboy” director announced the news yesterday at Comic-Con, noting that this interpretation would not, repeat not, be akin to Eddie Murphy’s “The Haunted Mansion” from 2003.

“We are not returning Eddie Murphy’s calls,” del Toro said, drawing laughs from the crowd. Instead, he's aiming for a “haunted house movie that a generation remembers and loves.”

Although the movie is based on a Disney theme park ride, del Toro said his direction will take the film to frightful places. "[W]e’re making the Haunted Mansion the most haunted place on Earth...this is going to be scary. If you take the children, they will scream," del Toro said. "But we hope that happens."

I really wasn't quite sure if this would be classified as an
exciting new movie post or here.

.. Oh and I must shamefully admit I haven't seen the 2003 film.

They already did that; it's called House on Haunted Hill.

    THANK YOU, Ginger!

I for one, am NOT a Del Toro fan and wish he'd take his "creative eye" (or so he feels) elsewhere.

Pan's Labyrinth was an abortion. I was so excited when hubby rented it for me. Now I wish I could get back those wasted minutes of my life.

There is no way I'm going to see The Hobbit and though I felt that Nathaniel Parker was the ONLY redeeming quality of The Haunted Mansion (other than the house which I would kill for) if Del Toro re-makes it, I definitely won't be going to see it.
