Apparently there is such a thing as too much wine. I ended up puking everything out after my friend's birthday party last night. That's never happened before. On the bright side, I'm not feeling sick this morning. LOL

^Haha! How much wine is too much, btw? And at least you didn't feel ill this morning. I love that feeling. It's like cheating death.

My own moaning:

Well, today wasn't a very good day. My mom hasn't woken up from coma, and the doctors say shes on the fence. On monday we got a call to go to the hospital because she wasn't doing well. Her organs all shut down, and there was no oxygen to her brain. Last night my sister told me that mom may not be herself if she survives, and will need a lot of therapy. Today the doctor came out and told us that there was indeed brain damage. No idea how much. Now her kidneys are not functioning well, and she's swelling up so much with no way of draining it. Her skin is actually starting to "slip" off.

I try not to be so down. I remind myself that its a miracle that she didn't die monday. It actually baffled the doctors. I'm thankful for everyday I had with her, and hope for more..but if not I cherish the days I had. God, I wish I took her to the hospital sooner. I really, really do. Like I could have done something. She's a good woman, and great mother...and I wouldn't wish this type of pain on anyone.

Don't saddle yourself with guilt, though I know it's natural to feel guilty in response to frustration. You have a right to feel sad, certainly; don't feel like you need to be brave. And remember, no matter what comes next, she loves you too.

QueenB: I agree with Red. Don't feel guilty about anything you did, and are doing, which is the best you possibly can. She knows you are there for her & it's why she is continuing to fight; She's not ready to leave your family yet. Take good care, Queen, & know you have our sympathy.

Today we finally got the news that she's strong enough for dialysis. Without it she will die, with it there is still a chance she may die. It's our only shot in the dark, and even though our chances are not in our favor (20/80 chance) we all decided it's what mom would want. A chance for life over certain death. My sister says if she lives to Friday it will be a miracle. Even though we've seen quite a few with her already, one more wouldn't hurt. This all starts tomorrow morning.

I don't like homework. The sad part? It is easy stuff. I'm just being lazy and don't want to do any of it.

I hate withdrawing from classes, but I can't handle my contemporary Islamic art course!

I spent the past six days trying to complete my readings and notes for the course and am still not done. I did a shoddy job on my other academic work and did not do much of anything for studio because of this class. The amount of work is crazy, especially considering that I have to finish a good chunk of my thesis project this semester.

My parents really wanted me to keep up with five courses this semester, but I can't..

^^ Don't feel bad, DD! Four classes per semester is a standard (and really very full) workload! Especially with art courses, b/c you're required to understand the material as well as create new things based on what you've learned. And of course, every professor thinks you're only taking his/her course and no others. (As though you wouldn't just love to take one class at a time and concentrate on it intensively -- I found myself wishing I could devote more time to each of my classes, but that's just not feasible when you've got 4 at a time.) If your parents think it's a breeze to take and excel in 5 innovation-intensive college courses at a time, they need to get their butts to college and give it a try. They'd drop out altogether!

DarkDreamer- I know how you feel. I'm going through the whole "should I, or shouldn't I drop" thing at the moment myself. Do what you feel is best, overloading you're self never has good outcomes.

Well, yesterday my mom had her dialysis port put in. What should have been a 1/2 hour procedure ended up taking 1 1/2 hours. The nurse said it was because she was so swollen, and lost a lot of blood. But she made it! It was a critical procedure, one that could have ended her with being so weak. She had a four hour dialysis session last night, and was suppose to get six hours today but her heart started to race. So they cut it off at four hours.

I hope soon I'll have good news to post on here If this works out for her, and flushes those toxins, she should wake up from her coma. She'll be loopy as hell, but at least awake.

Maybe I shouldn't be irked about this, but I am:

A few weeks ago, my ex-client (and strong museum contact) invited G and me to dinner at his house; had a good time. Then he suggested meeting him and a couple of his friends, who work in HR, for lunch to see if they could be a source of more good job leads. They work in the Cary/Morrisville area, about a 30-min. drive away; I explained that G and I are sharing a car right now so lunch in Raleigh would provide maximum flexibility -- I would be able to get there by bus and not have to schedule a time to use the car. I suggested a restaurant in Raleigh; he said that sounded great. They sometimes do business in Raleigh anyway.

Weeks went by; no contact from him. I emailed to touch base; didn't mention lunch. He emailed back; said "Can you get the car on the 7th and meet us at a restaurant at 11:45 in Cary?"

Well, sh!t, have I got a choice? :/

I should mention that Cary appears to have been designed by people who failed engineering -- it's notoriously backward to drive around in. And the distracted, texting soccer moms don't help with traffic conditions. This could well be an afternoon-killer, and could well lead to nothing in terms of leads.

^^That's incredibly rude & inconsiderate. Hopefully it doesn't suck.

so far this is a pretty sh*tty year and looking forward the next few months its not getting any better between bills and other bills

One bad part of going to the gym today, just threw on some loafers to head in and kept my sneakers in my bag. Got there and realized they, for some insane reason, weren't in my bag.

I probably looked like a jackass, and my feet kinda hurt now.

Found the sneakers when I got home on my bed, which was where I was checking to make sure I had everything I needed in the bag. Think I took them out to look for something else, and then forgot to put them back in.
