    http://alert.psychiatricnews.org/2011/10/samhsa-announces-state-estimates-of.html?spref=fb

    Quote:
Hawaii and South Dakota have the lowest rate of serious mental illness, while Rhode Island has the highest. The national rate of serious mental illness is 4.6 percent. That’s according to findings from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) 2008 and 2009 National Surveys on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), released yesterday.

    Full Report here:

I'm surprised Rhode Island was number 1. Also surprised my home state New York doesn't have a higher rate. wtf

Of course RI is high, its a tiny state so it has less people. I'm really not to sure how much I'd want to put into this report though considering its only estimates so its probably higher considering all the cases not reported from all the people that just don't know or go find out. On that note too, Alaska has the highest teen suicide rate in the country and mentaly stable people dont just go kill them selfs so that has to be accounted for as well...
