| I'd like to hear the republican super conservative reaction to this...
Personaly I think it should be legal country wide and the fact its not is unconstitutional because it conflicts amendment 14 because they are Americans and as such "No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States." By treating marrage like a privilege as we do, stopping anyone is simply wrong. Not to meantion stopping them is discrimination which is ilegal... I'm sticking to humans on this because rocks, animals, carvival rides etc. arent covered by the constitution or any discrimination laws so no one has to make that huge leap in logic that one leads to the other... _________________  |

| ^^Down here in NYC the Catholics are freaking out. Just this morning some dude from the Catholic League was bitching about how marriage is only for making babies. Yup. That was his only argument. Crazy, right?! LOL
A few Republican'ts voted for this bill. I heard one of them on the news say that religion is religion and should not dictate the law. Finally someone gets it!
The only Democrat who voted against this bill was Sen. Ruben Diaz from right here in the Bronx. He's a Pentecostal minister, so that explains it. If I ever see him on the street, I have a few things to say to him. He's a real piece of sh*t. |

This is a worn counter-argument, but you can ask would he bar infertile or elderly couples from marrying? And if marriage is only for reproduction, would he support injunctions placed upon couples who don't produce children within a certain time frame? This is also not to mention that for the vast majority of the human species, marriages were solely for the purpose of solidifying political and economic alliances; marriage for the sake of romance is a mere 200 year old idea. _________________ I'm a werewolf, not a vampire! |
