| My son and I went out shopping and got my hubby the following:
Smoked Salmon
Some Axe shampoo and other goodies in a gift set
and some Coca Cola stuff, which he collects.
He has everything in the world, so it's difficult to buy for him.
I hope he likes what he's getting! |

| I get nothing and they get nothing, we're just happy we're alive one more year, sitting around the table and for one night having a night of peace and happiness together. |

| ^^ That's beautiful, Max. Really. You and your family capture the essence of it -- gifts are fun, I love to give them, but they don't replace happiness and peace. |

| I'm with you, Max. I'm not xtian, so I see no reason to celebrate xmas. I don't want to contribute to the massive overconsumption of our civilization just for some ritual stolen by power-hungry men from the pagan traditions they snubbed. |

| The vast majority of what we think of Christmas is actually secular. _________________ I'm a werewolf, not a vampire! |

| My parents are Atheists. I am a Pagan. And yet we always do Christmas up big. Dad takes his chainsaw out and cuts down a native tree from the roadside. Mom makes half a dozen pies. We have a warmer, happier Christmas than most others I've seen, even though my family is non-christian. |

| ^^ My husband's family is essentially agnostic (or maybe non-practicing something-or-other), and we had a lovely Christmas together. It was a celebration of each other, and of all of us being together in the same place. Faith can be beautiful or divisive, but celebration of and care for each other is one thing on which we can agree. And it makes for a holiday well-enjoyed. |

Christmas is simply the perfect excuse to forget about the life problems and have a nice meal with the people you love. |
