I really wish that I could take vocal lessons to learn to sing as awesome as my wants list...
Women I wish I could sing like:
IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER:
Tarja Turunen (Nightwish/solo)
Sabine Dünser (Elis/Erben der Schöpfung)
Simone Simons (Epica)
Floor Jansen (After Forever)
Lisa Middelhauve (Xandria)
Katra Solopuro (Katra)
Barbara Jedovnicky (Naio Ssaion)
Cristina Scabbia (Lacuna Coil)
Ji-In Cho (Krypteria)
Sharon den Adel (Within Temptation)
Manda Ophuis (Nenesea)
Claudia Uhle (Angelzoom)
Sonja Kraushofer (Persephone)
(vocalist from Luca Turilli's Dreamquest. She's never named)
And then to the (slightly) rant part. Not only are local artists predominately male and (usually) completely against working with women, they have no freaking talent! They all scream into the mic off key and it sounds terrible. I might actually support local bands more if they actually had some better vocals... and maybe worked on their song structure (but this is a distant second). Really, all the local bands want to sound like Dirtfedd. And they suck! Who cares if Corey Taylor gave them a freaking record deal? Slipknot isn't the greatest band in the world either. And for the fact that the record label is Corey's own made one, not the one he's signed to.
So, to get back to the point...
Men I wish local artists would sound like:
IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER..
Roy Khan (Kamelot)
Marco Hietala (Tarot/Nightwish)
Lauri Ylönen (The Rasmus)
Mika Tauriainen (Entwine)
Tony Kakko (Sonata Arctica)
Mario Plank (Visions of Atlantis)
Feel free to discuss. That's the reason for making the thread.
