| Thanks guys! It's pretty gnarly looking right now with some scabbing and peeling and it bothers me to have clothes on it, lol. I'll post more pictures one it's touched up.
DarkHippie, did you find a design yet? The pain level of a tattoo also depends on the design and location. For most people, the chest, spine and shin are the most painful places. (Well maybe the genitals but those aren't so common to get tattooed, lol) My arm tattoo that I just posted had two painful points, the top and bottom, the rest of the design I could barely feel. The outlining hurts the worst. Just start small and simple or else you'll never want a tattoo again :-) lol good luck! |

| I have the design in mind, a rose intertwined in an ankh, (something like the pic..but without the big leaf. Or maybe just the ankh, since it would be smaller) I am not much of an artist though, so drawing it out is becoming a pain. I was just wanting it on my left upper arm (or my left shoulder, on my back, can't decide.) and not too big, since starbucks does have tatoo rules! I hope it doesn't hurt to much, but I have been wanting one for so long I think I will deal. And I must agree, your tatoo is very pretty Albina! |

| Love the design DarkHippie :-) If you're taking the leaf off, might I suggest making the stem longer and entwining it more around the ankh? That might look nice.
Find an artist and take a printout of that photo with you. Discuss the changes you want, how big you want it and the location, etc. Most artists will draw up the design for you, but you might have to go in a week or so early, especially if you need to make an appointment. Even if you draw the design yourself, the artist will make a tracing of it to stencil onto your skin.
Hope that made sense, I'm kinda tired lol :-) |

| Darkhippie: This is from me and my tattoo artist friend(s)- Above all else, don't psych yourself out. Yeah, it'll hurt in a funny way. But think about getting blood drawn- sometimes you get yourself all freaked out about it- you get kind of dizzy just from breathing so shallowly and being afraid.
Once, I was asphyxiating on a tumor in my throat and had to get a steroid shot in my butt. I was so terrified and already short of breath- I passed out into an ER trash can. Which is kind of funny when you consider I was wearing a business suit, hose and heels at the time.
The nurse was a big guy with a huge Harley logo on his arm, among other tats. He told me that I was freaking myself out. That that's the secret. You gotta know you're a badass and not be afraid. Because you are. You wouldn't be in the artist's chair if you weren't. So don't be scared. It'll hurt a bit, but it's also worth it. Just keep telling yourself- you rock. Make it a mantra. Chat with the artist. Ask him questions. Be comfortable, hard though it is. A friend with a hand to hold doesn't hurt! |

| I was about to just take pics and show you all anyway, but the lighting in my house is too dark and makes the blue look green. The stars are on my right foot. The skull will be going on the right calf, and the rose will be going on my left shoulder blade.
I was amazed. When I got there I was freaking out. Some people told me it feels like burning, some people said it is just a lot of pain, others said the burning and pain will go away after a while, and others said I was going to cry because your foot hurts more then any other place.
We sat around and talked for a while since we haven't seen each other in a while. (My tattoo artist lives over an hour away from me and does tattoos in his basement. I knew him when I was little because his daughter and I were friends. She was a grade ahead of me. He has moved from the area and has gotten remarried since then) He asked me if I was ready and I said no. But I knew I had to go for it anyway.
Well when we started it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It didn't really hurt, it mostly was annoying. It just felt like someone kept poking me with a needle. The only time it got really bad was when he would have to tattoo over a bone or one of my veins. At that point I thought he was trying to drill through my bones. The shading got bad. Some areas would bleed and those just so happened to be on the bones. So not only did he have to go over them a lot but I'm afraid the color won't stay well and I will have to get those spots touched up.
Right now I'm doing fine. It doesn't hurt regularly and washing it only stings in little spots. Like I said I can't get a good pic tonight. So I will post them tomorrow when I have better lighting. |

| ^^It actually wasn't that bad. People were telling me I was gonna cry or pass out. For the most part it just felt annoying. The only problems were when he hit a bone or vein. Those points I was clenching my teeth while ripping my mom and friends hands off. |
