This little guy is definitely my 40th Birthday present to myself (actually Mr D is paying for it). I want the owl on the outside of my right calf - he is supposed to represent wisdom

Baby Emma just got her first tattoo!

It's an oroboros- a snake biting it's own tail. Alchemy. Eternity. I could write a whole long paragraph about what it means to me and why now, but here's the high points:
-Master's thesis partially about alchemy
-Ex BF didn't want me to get a tattoo- this specifically. He doesn't control me anymore.
-The snake destroys and creates itself at the same time. Rebirth. Regeneration. That's why I wanted to get this in the first place- 5 years ago. I am bipolar. Every day is regeneration. I have survived- I will survive. Forever. Eternally. Eternity.

Thanks Succubus....I'm not really a rose or flower person either but I just had to. The red will be a very dark red and I made sure the thorns very really visible. So it's a sinister rose

Got this yesterday...I am confident that all of you either already know the true meaning of the swastika, or if not, have the presence of mind to google it :-) You guys are a smart bunch so I probably don't have to explain.

Got the rose on Wednesday....damn was it painful! I think I will go back once it's healed and have him do the red darker. Also it would be neat to have a tiny drop of blood coming off one of the thorns.
