Woman catches on fire outside Peoria rehabilitation center

A 42-year-old female caught on fire Wednesday morning outside a Peoria rehabilitation center near Plaza
del Rio Boulevard and Thunderbird Road, police spokesman Mike Tellef said.

The victim had life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital, Tellef said.

Employees found the woman sitting on an outside patio engulfed in flames, Tellef said. Police are unsure how she caught on fire.
Previous reports that she was using oxygen and smoking were inaccurate, Tellef said.

Three employees who were attending to the woman before emergency personnel got there were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

One of the employees was transported for a burn, another for respiratory problems and the third for stress, Tellef said.

Maybe it was spontanious combustion.

That could account for her still being in a sitting positon.
Somewhat like that said of old indians going out to sit in the cold with ice in their mouths to die. Somewhere I'd read of that. Whether it's true or not..

Not there could be any pleasant explanation to this, but I'd really truly hate to find out there was a possibility that she could have been set afire on purpose after having been sedated.
