| So I've realized that I have been enlarging the text on my computer screen a lot lately, and my mom tells me she was around my age when she started needing glasses.
JUST GREAT.
So does anyone have any suitably fashionable suggestions? Are the square, black rimmed frames the default gothy style? Are non-prescription reading glasses the kind of thing I should put a little bit of money into or not? |

| Well, everytime I see those square, black rimmed frames, I always think of emo/scene. But I think you should just whatever looks good on you. THose aboved metioned frames don't look good on everyone. You have to have a certain face for 'em. And really, I think you should get non prescription ones, or even prescription ones. If you don't get 'em it will keep putting a strain on your eyes which leads to worse eyesight and some majorly bad headaches. just bring something to read with you when you get them (if not prescription) so that you know they are the right ones. |

| The neat thing about reading glasses is that they come in call sorts of styles and price ranges. You should just try on different pairs and pick the one that suits your face frame the best. Don't get too carried away with what's en vogue; what suits one face will not suit another. Oh, and you'll only be needing them for reading, so you shouldn't feel too self-conscious about it.
I highly recommend you see an eye doctor immediately, either an opthalmologist or optometrist, just to confirm that you really do need glasses, and to check for eye diseases...'cause you never know.
And again, since you're only going to use them for reading, you need not spend too much money for them (it would be different if you were near-sighted, then I'd suiggest you get a good quality pair since you'll be using them all the time). |

| Diva's right. Seeing an eye specialist is a good idea, just in case. Don't feel too bad; I once heard that ninety-something percent of all people need glasses at some point in their lives. So most of us are headed down the same path. I've got a few grey hairs, if it makes you feel any better! They turn strawberry blonde when I dye my hair. |

| I've needed glasses since I was in second grade, luckily I was later able to move onto contacts. If it makes you feel any better don't think of them as anything more than another fashion accessory and if you're just going to get readers for reading, buy the ones from the dollar store that way you'll be able to get alot of diffrent ones to match your clothing. _________________ ”Puritanism: The haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy." ~H. | Yeah black-rimmed glasses can be sexy! The more square ones in Diva's links remind me of geek glasses of the 50's and 60's. |

hey, hey, hey, don't stereotype. I have those type of glasses

and all I have to say is, try them on. If you look hot in them and feel like you can rock them, go for it.
I've been rocking glasses since age ...a young age, I forgot the exact age. They're not bad at all. |

| Hey---I KNOW you would look awesome in the more cat-eye shape glasses. I got these frames cheap on eBay (20 bucks) as opposed to 200 at the optometrist. |
