Hmm... she fled... after giving them the money... and they had knives...
I dunno about her, but wouldn't it have been just as logical to flee before giving them the money? I mean, sure... they could have chased her down but then they'd have been forced to leave the money behind to do so risking getting caught.
Personally I would have fled from the start, hoping they would help themselves to the money & use it as a distraction to gain more distance.
Good thing they weren't worried about witnesses. Once I had the money, there'd be no point in keeping her alive... unless I was 100% certain she couldn't identify me... which sounds like could have been the case here.
