Girl with 56 stars tattooed on face admits she asked for them
A teenage girl who claimed 56 stars were tattooed on her on her face as she slept when she asked for three has admitted she was awake the whole time – and lied because her father was "furious".

Kimberley Vlaminck had insisted she dozed off after asking the tattooist for just three small stars – then woke in horror to find her face was covered.
The Belgian blamed the Flemish-speaking tattooist for not being able to understand her French and English instructions.
Amid a frenzy of media attention, she then said she would sue the tattoo artist, Rouslan Toumaniantz, for the £9,000 she needed for laser surgery to have them removed.
She said after the tattooing last week: "It is terrible for me. I cannot go out on to the street. I look like a freak."
But the 18-year-old has finally confessed she did not fall asleep, that she wanted all the stars and was "fully aware" of what Mr Toumaniantz was doing.
Ms Vlaminck told a Dutch TV crew: "I asked for 56 stars and initially adored them. But when my father saw them, he was furious. So I said I fell asleep and the that the tattooist made a mistake."
Mr Toumaniantz – himself covered from head to foot in tattoos and piercings – had consistently denied he had made a mistake and always insisted Vlaminck wanted all 56 stars.
He said at the time: "I maintain that she absolutely agreed that I tattoo those 56 stars on the left side of her face."
But despite insisting she had asked for 56 stars, he still initially agreed to pay for half of the treatment to remove the tattoos.
"Kimberley is unhappy and it is not my wish to have an unsatisfied client," he said.
"I don't regret it. To tell you the truth, this has given me some publicity." Mr Toumanaintz is now said to have withdrawn his cash offer and said from now on he will get written consent from clients before he begins tattooing.

Written consent is always a good idea.
Not tattooing teenagers who live with their parents is another good idea.

I know..that's the guys livelihood. What did she expect her father would say when she showed up with tattoos on her face?? Like realistically, come on. He wouldn't be giving you a high 5.

I wonder if she'll totally regret the face tats in a few years.

I'm glad she finally fessed up. That could have lost him a lot of business. I think face tats rock, but you really have to be the person able to back it up with your personality.

Shame on her though. Didn't she think for the longest time, to sketch it on herself first? If it was only because of her father's reaction that she's unhappy with it, she should have sharpied it on and gave him a try out with that first and herself! I know hindsight, but really.

Well, Mr Toumaniantz did a good job at least and that was really sweet of him to have offered to help with her getting it removed.

I hate the fact that she lied and tried to get her tattooist into trouble

My own tattoo lady has seven perfect little green stars between her ear and her chin and they look stunning but I dont think I would ever have a facial tattoo

I loathe liars...

She fessed up good, but she needs to deal with all the backlash now too because she brought it on herself.

Well she's going to have a permanent reminder on her face

Whilst I detest the lies, what makes me angry is the fact that she tried to put the blame on somebody that she had employed to tattoo her

And as for falling asleep..............................

I've grown to hate star tattoos, they're the new tribal-tattoo of the early 90's.

I personally don't have the money to afford a new tat and even if I did, it wouldn't be of stars...
