| Well, Cyn, taking photos isn't illegal, it's having the mod that is. So I have to keep it pressed together while I talk, or else it becomes almost obvious that I have it, and it's an instant boot out of the military for having it. But then again, so are 90% of the rest of the things I've done to my body as well. I've got more mods on the way, they just take a bit of work to get to them. |

| So is anyone planning on getting anything 'weird' or am I the only one right now? |

| Heh, subdermal implants <3 I was thinking about getting some done around the tattoo on my elbow, to make the spiderweb '3D'. There's a lot of entertaining things you can do to ink then just let it sit on the skin now-a-days |

| Loki---terribly off topic, but you make the military sound so terrible---why did you join? Also, you said you'd answer questions---do you know much about septum piercings and their healing process?---Whoops that's the piercings thread....ah well, we're in the body mod section of the forum anyway. |

| I was debating starting a weird ink thread, but ehhhh...what the hell.
As far as strange tattoos go...Judge Judy anyone?

She's a very scary woman.
This is from someone who adores female cenobites too, haahhahahha.
That should ward off robbers, I mean nobody messes with someone with Judge Judy's face inked on them. She's like the ultimate sigil of protection. |

| Ghost, sorry the thread didn't show up until someone revived it again. The septum is an easy piercing, you actually miss the cartilage and pierce through a small pocket of skin so it only feels like you've had a nose hair plucked at the worst. Granted that pocket is a real pain in the a$$ to find sometimes and even the best can miss it. Healing time is 6-8 weeks on average. It will be tender to move, you'll tear up when you sneeze, and don't pick your nose.
As for the Navy, I joined because for the first time in my life I listened to someone else other than me. I joined because my wife wanted me to, and I figured I could better support my daughter with all the healthcare she could need. Sadly, the wife left two and a half months after boot camp, and I was left with a six year contract.
The Navy is bad for me, because of who I was before I joined, and who I am now. I've talked with a lot of people I should never have been able to through one way or another, and I've had a lot of lies that altered my future because of those people. There is a lot of mistrust between me and certain paygrades/ranks of people on board. Basically my whole situation was something people didn't want to deal with, so they lied to me to keep my going, to meet a quota and push me out until I reached my final destination, and then let them deal with it. |

| Wow, damn, Loki, that sucks terribly. I was afraid the story would be something like that. It seems like they will do anything possible to get people in the forces and get them to stay there. Kinda scary. I'm sorry you had to get stuck with it! Sorry if this is stupid...but what would happen if you broke the contract? Is that some sort of federal offense or something?
About the septum---I already got it, about 10 weeks ago. The woman said (before she pierced it) that sometimes they can be crooked before they heal up. Mine is so incredibly crooked. It hasn't gotten any better in 10 weeks and it hurts terribly all the time. It seems as if I have some sort of fluid or inflammation on the right side, I can see a bump and the tip of my nose on the right side is harder than the other side. Have you ever heard of a crooked septum fixing itself like she says? Also, what do I do about this inflammation? I'm doing everything I'm supposed to do! |

| Scalpels, razor blades, special blades that are used to peel back layers of skin. I prefer a few really nice razor blades/scalpels and a line up of really funny movies to distract from the pain I'm about to involve myself in. |
