I posted this under Relationships rather than Beauty or world news because I think the ultimate worst part of this is what people will do to please an unworthy lover.

I think it's pretty dumb to go to such extent to please someone who is in love with someone he's never met, but I can't talk too much... I've done a few stupid things here and there when it came to boys.

Hm.. Well, the one I gave a key to my apartment, so he came here mainly for free food and other needs..

The other, I kinda' started changing myself to something I thought he'd like.. I stopped drawing, stopped dressing the fairy/boho/oriental way that I sometimes like... in other words, I stopped being me. And he never even noticed... His concepts on women were pretty damn insulting too.

^been there. Got the T-shirt... literally... twice. Neither one fits right. First for a band one guy liked, second for another guy's Video Game for Charity. I now wear those when jogging and no other time. I'm my own woman, dammit!

This is awful -- she's beautiful! But that's beside the point. I agree with what's already been said here. The situation is sad and infuriating. And besides, if he doesn't like her the way she is, there'll never be a way to please him. She might as well find the one who likes her. He doesn't; he sure as hell doesn't love her.

It makes me so sad. She's such a cutie, and no doubt has a good heart. I want to hug her -- and bring her stateside, where she might have more options anyway (basing that on the last sentence or 2 of the article).

Last time I happened to see Jessica, which was rather recently, she was a burnette not a blonde. Her ex must have been infatuated with the "blonde Jessica".

Thing is, what if after going through the "Alba make over" and she were to get him back, a different celeb captures his eye's fancy?

And in an interview I read with Alba (yes I was bored in the house on Monday), she said she doesn't mind the cellulite and other body changes that resulted from her giving birth to her daughter -- but would those little details send the Alba-phile's world crashing down, I wonder? Just a little morbid curiosity.

And good point, Cyn, about the guy maybe getting finicky and wanting some other celeb later on. That guy just sounds like a waste.

There's just something so vulnerable in her eyes. She's vulnerable and the doctors are preying on her for publicity and her friends and lover who should be the ones saying "whoa, this is a dumb idea" are the ones cheering it on!

Well, thanks, guys, for counseling me through several breakups without ever suggesting that a new nose would fix all my problems!
