So, is this a really good deal? I have GIMP, but $199 for Adobe CS4 Extended doesn't seem like that much.

Is there a difference (other than price) between a Student Edition and a Full Edition?

Yep, it's a super-good deal. There is no difference in them other than the start-up screen saying "Student Edition". I got my CS2 creative suite for $400 bucks when I was a student, that's about $700 off. Holy crap!
But, if you aren't a student, you'll need to find someone who is a full-time student who will buy it for you as you need to send them dated proof that you're a student or a higher-education employee.

I'm a full time student. But I don't have an extra $200 to spend at the moment XD.... the sale ends September 30th though... I might still have time.

The Cs upgrades are nice, but depending on what you need to use it for, you just might be better off with an older version of Photoshop/Illustrator/Indesign. What do you need from it?

^^Just designing and what not. As I said, I have GIMP, but it doesn't have everything that photoshop does. I'm not in any art classes or anything. I just like to tinker on the art programs. For what I do currently, GIMP is probably all I need. I just know Photoshop has more brushes and this and that.
