She Had A Death In Me
By: Joan Houlihan

Quote:
She had a death in me, knees drawn up
and my bowl and cloth rinsed through with her.
As morning takes night, field closes the hare,
and ay would burrow into her.

Over the alter, catalpas rattle,

Art Questions: Tools and Techniques
Mon Jan 04, 2010 1:18 pm by RedAngel
Thought this might be a handy thread.

So, there's a foggy film on the inside of the glass of my husband's scanner, and it's affecting the quality of the sketches he scans. It's an easy enough problem to fix, if we could just get inside.

(I have a guess as to what might be causing it: deterioration and thereby off-gassing of a plastic component under the glass, with bui...

The Scavengers - new short story...
Mon Dec 07, 2009 1:01 pm by GothicScrybe
My dreams are a strange place (much like me) and I just wrote a short story based on a dream I had. For those of you who've never read my works before, here is an opportunity to sample the range and depth of my writing style.

listening to the patters of the rain on my window pane
so many hours pass by as it beats out my lullaby

Sketch books with Heavyweight paper
Prismacolor colouring pencils
GIMP (it's like a free v...

What is "Art"?
Mon Oct 20, 2008 5:34 pm by Apocalypse
Not so much a poll, in fact not a poll at all, but a collection of opinions on what "art" is.

Does art exist to provoke a response whether negative or positive? Does it exist to put a picture to an escape from reality? Or is art just what you call something when you don't understand it? How do you feel about what is considered art and what do you think it's purpose is?
